James E. Murphy, Jr., 77, of Mulberry Drive, Walnutport, Lehigh Township, Pennsylvania, formerly of Baldwin, Long Island, New York, and Naperville, Illinois, died early Friday morning, July 8, 2016, at Lehigh Valley Hospice, Inpatient Unit. He was the husband of Maribeth C. (Forster) Murphy since January 27, 1962. Born in Freeport, New York, he was a son of the late James E., Sr. and Frances (Yzquierdo)Murphy.
James was employed in the marketing department of the Lab-Volt Company, Farmingdale, New Jersey, retiring in 2007. He was a member of Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cherryville, Pennsylvania. James was a member of a barbershop quartet in Newark, Delaware.
Survivors: Wife, Maribeth. Sons, James E., III, Sean M., Colin S. and wife Tiffany, of Lehigh Township, PA. 3 grandchildren, Joseph, Taegan, Ciara. 2 great-granddaughters. Sister, Peggy Gay of Baldwin, New York. Brother, Anton and wife Elizabeth of Baldwin, New York.
Services: Memorial Services, 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2016, at Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 1030, 4131 Lehigh Drive, Cherryville, PA 18035. Arrangements are by Campton Funeral Home, Inc., 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071.
