James E. Perschy, Sr., 85, of Gap Road, Palmerton, Lower Towamensing Township, Pennsylvania, died early Sunday morning, November 27, 2016, in Palmerton. He was the husband of Conchita (Muniz) Perschy since May 14, 1955. Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Julius Sr., and Gizella (Korpics) Perschy.
James was employed in the labor and maintenance department of Horsehead Industries, Palmerton, for over 20 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton. A US Army Veteran of Korea, he achieved the rank of Sgt. James was a member of the American Legion, Palmerton Post, and the Palmerton Hungarian Lodge.
Survivors: Wife, Conchita. Daughters, Rose Perschy, Stephanie wife of Don Messinger, all of Palmerton. Son, James E. Jr. and companion Maureen Conroy of Palmerton. 6 grandchildren. 10 great-grandchildren. Sisters, Dorothy Perschy, Francesca Kostalis, both of Bethlehem, Sandra Fazio of Vero Beach, Florida. Brothers, Julius Jr. and wife Betty of Allentown, Peter Fazio of Schnecksville. Several nieces and nephews.
Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 243 Lafayette Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071. Call, 10:30 - 11:00 a.m., Thursday in the church. Interment is with Military Honors, at the Parish's Old Cemetery, 3rd Street, Palmerton, PA 18071.
