James W. Schaffer, Jr."Jim" , 91 of Northampton-Lehigh Twsp., PA passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at his residence. Born September 17, 1932, in Coplay, PA, he was the son of the late James W. Schaffer, Sr. and the late Mary (Krenn) Schaffer. He was the husband of the late Susanne F. (Long) Schaffer who passed away in September 2010.
After serving his country in the Army during the Korean War, Jim was employed in Computer / I.T. Services for the Bethlehem Steel Corp., Bethlehem, PA for 30 years before retiring in 1989. He was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall, PA. He was very active in the sport of Trapshooting and belonged to the L.V. Trapshooters Association for over 60 years. He enjoyed time in the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also loved to attend fairs of all kinds during the summertime.
He is survived by his daughter, Marianne S. Schaffer of Hamilton, NJ, sister, Ms. Marietta Iacocca of Radcliff, KY; 3 granddaughters; Stevie Ruth, Kiera Susanne, and Kelsie Rhiannon. He was predeceased by brother, Randy Schaffer and sister, Mrs. Shirley Mayberry.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA. 18067 has been entrusted with his care and services. Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Northampton, PA.
