James W. Thomas, 80, of Northampton, PA, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late James and Hannah (Griffiths) Thomas. Jim proudly served his country as an aircraft mechanic in the United States Navy from 1955-1958, spending time in Texas and Japan. He was an electrician for Bethlehem Steel where he worked for more than 35 years before retiring in 1998. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family, and accompanied them on several vacations to Walt Disney World and the Outer Banks, NC. He was a loving father, grandfather, and friend to all. He will be greatly missed.

Survivors: Daughter Tricia, wife of Christopher Tatum of Bath, PA; son, James W. Thomas, and fiancée, Carla Arbushites of Bath, PA; long time companion, Eileen Weinstein of Mantua, NJ; sister, Lois Berlau of Baltimore, Maryland; three grandchildren, Madison, Parker, and Jonathan; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson.

Services: Funeral Services will be held 10:00am on Thursday March 22, 2018 at the Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA. 18067. The Family will receive friends on Wednesday March 21, 2018 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM and Thursday  8:30 AM to 10:00 AM both at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow at Sacred Heart R.C. Church Cemetery Bath, PA.

Contributions: To honor Jim's memory and his great love for animals, especially his granddogs, contributions may be made to Peaceable Kingdom, Whitehall c/o the funeral home.
