Janet E. Bowen

Janet E. (Kranik) Bowen , 76, formerly of Lakeville, Paupack Township, Wayne County, died peacefully Thursday evening, August 19, 2021, at Gardens of Easton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Easton.  Born in Hoboken, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Anthony J. and Blanche (Baca) Kranik.

Janet was Gold Star Mother.  She was employed in the hospitality industry at Skytop Lodge for many years.  Previously, before caring for her large family, she worked as a secretary and aide for the Air Force in Paramus, NJ.  She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Palmerton.  Janet was a 1962 graduate of the Roselle Park High School, NJ.

Survivors: Janet is survived by daughters Patricia Cordoma of Franklin Township, NJ, Jennifer, wife of James Bates of Palmerton, Kristen Sweeney and fiance John Schwartz of Hawley, Tara Sweeney of Canadensis, and Katherine, wife of Jamie Foy of Shrewsbury, MA.  Sons, Christopher Sweeney and fiancee Darla Miele of Honesdale, Tommy and wife Kim Sweeney of Springfield, VA, Kevin Sweeney of New York, NY, and Timothy Sweeney of Richmond, VA.  13 grandchildren.  She is survived by sisters, Susan Vengraitis of Brick, NJ, and Ruth Kranik of Chicago, IL.  4 nephews.  She was predeceased by sons John and Paul Sweeney, and a niece, Renee Chapman, who was also her Goddaughter.

Services: 2:00 p.m., Memorial Services will take place with calling hours from 12:00-2:00 p.m., on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at Frey-Fetsock Funeral Home, 201 Bumpers Road, Newfoundland, PA 18445.  A private interment will take place following the calling hours at Pine Grove Cemetery, Paupack.  Arrangements, Campton Funeral Home, Palmerton.  Online Condolences may be left for the family at: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com .
