Janice L. Heiny

Janice L. (Newhard) Heiny, 83, of Cedar Drive, Walnutport, Lehigh Township, Pennsylvania, died Monday evening, October 17, 2016, at Phoebe Home, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Franklin D. Heiny who passed in 2008. Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Wilmer F. and Mazie (Hall) Newhard.
Janice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Years ago, she was employed as a seamstress by the former D&D Shirt Company, Northampton, and provided in-home childcare for many years. A member of Zion's Stone United Church of Christ, Kreidersville, she enjoyed attending the Walnutport Senior Group, and her crochet, needlepoint, and cross stitch work.
Survivors: daughter, Karen L. wife of Ronald Matthews of Branchville, NJ. Sons, David D. and wife Sandra L., Glenn A. and wife Diane, all of Lehigh Township. Grandchildren, Carrie, John, Nicole, and Craig. Many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister, Phyllis, and brothers, Carl, and Joseph.
Services: 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 21, 2016 at Zion's Stone U.C.C., 51 Church Road, Northampton, PA 18067. Call, 7:00-8:30 p.m., Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067, and 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday, in the church. Interment, Church Cemetery, Allen Township.
