Jean S. Gogel

Jean S. Gogel, 94 of Nazareth, PA, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at her residence in Nazareth, PA. Born September 28, 1931, in Nazareth, PA, she was the daughter of the late Leo Frantz and the late Dorothy (Grube) Frantz. She was the wife of the late Harold F. Gogel, Jr. with whom she shared 63 years of marriage until he passed away on April 13, 2026.

Jean was a 1949 graduate of Nazareth Area High School who was last employed as a secretary for the Middle School in the Nazareth Area School District for 28 years. Prior to that she worked in the same capacity for the former Kraemer Textile Mills, Nazareth, PA. for 10 years. Jean was a long-time member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Nazareth, PA. and served as a greeter and on the counting team. She served as secretary/treasurer for her high school class, was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her son, Keith A. Gogel of Belmont, NC; twin grandsons, George and Jacob Gogel, of Belmont, NC. She is also survived by a nephew and five nieces. She was predeceased by her sisters, Darlene Roth and LaRue Roth.

A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday April 23, 2026, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 S. Broad Street Nazareth, PA, 18064 with the Rev. Scott A. Hall officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the services in the church. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Nazareth, PA. Bartholomew-Schisler Funeral home, 211 E. Center St., Nazareth, PA 18064 is in charge of her arrangements.
