Jeannette L. Smith

Jeannette L. Smith , 90 of Nazareth, PA, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2024, at Holy Family Nursing Center in Bethlehem, PA. Born April 4, 1933 in Allen Twsp., PA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur J. Ruch and the late Lizzie J. (Frederick) Ruch. She was the wife of the late Kenneth N Smith, Jr., with whom she shared 57 loving years of marriage before his passing in May 2011.

Jeannette was last employed by C. F. Martin Co., Nazareth as a laborer for 11 years before retiring in April of 1996. She was a long time member of St. John's U.C.C. Church, Nazareth were she served as a greeter, former Sunday School Teacher, and was an avid supporter and volunteer with Meals on Wheels. In her earlier years she was a member of the former Harmony Grange, Lehigh Twsp., PA and member of the former Jr. Woman's Club of Nazareth,

She survived by her daughters; Denise wife of  Lynn Morris of Nazareth, PA and Shelly Lajoie of Bath, PA, grandson Luke Morris and wife Marissa of Nazareth, PA, granddaughter Lyndsey Andres and husband Kevin of Hunlock Creek, PA. great-grandchildren Landon and Kinsley Morris, sisters Helen wife of Warren Odenwelder of Whitehall, PA, and Margaret Fogel of Bethlehem, PA. She was predeceased by 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00AM April 20, 2024 at St. John's U.C.C. Church 183 Broad St. Nazareth, PA 18064. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00AM up until the time of service. Internment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery Nazareth, PA. Bartholomew-Schisler Funeral Home, 211 E. Center Street, Nazareth PA, 18064 has been entrusted with her care and service.

Memorial Contributions may be given in lieu of flowers to the church memorial fund or Shriners Children's Hospital, both care of the funeral home.
