Jerry W. Hudgins, Sr., 73, of Primrose Drive, Allentown, died peacefully Friday afternoon, June 11, 2021, in his home. He was the husband of Sandra A. (Kissel) Hudgins since June 19, 1990. Born in Newport News, VA, he was a son of the late Jesse C. and Evelyn L. (Rowe) Hudgins.
Jerry was employed as a corrections officer by the Lehigh County Prison for 17 years retiring in 1995. An Army veteran of Vietnam, he served as a combat medic, awarded Vietnam Service Medal W/4 Bronze Stars, the Vietnamese Gallantry Cross W/ Palm, along with several other meritorious medals and awards. He achieved rank of SSGT. Jerry was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, W. Allentown, and served as Union Shop Steward for the prison. He enjoyed watching the dolphins at the seashore, collecting Coca Cola Memorabilia, NASCAR, and his Washington Redskins Football, and Nationals Baseball.
Survivors: wife. daughters, Wendy (David) Buchman Allentown, Laurie (Ronald) Alexander Westampton, NJ, Cindy Hoffer Northampton, Michelle (Kevin) Behler Lehighton. son, Jerry Jr. (Lori) Palmer Twp. 9 grandchildren. 2 great granddaughters. sisters, Jean Davis, JoAnn Hall, both of Achilles, VA. He was predeceased by brother, Jeffrey.
Services: 10:00AM Tuesday, Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067. Call, 9-10;00AM Tuesday in funeral home. Interment W/ Military Honors, Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
