Joan Ann Kula
, 69 of Coplay, Pennsylvania, died on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at her home. Born July 26, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late William and Dorothy E. (MacBride) Lynch. She and her husband Gerald G. Kula were married on August 21, 1987.
Joan was a New York native who retired in 2016 from Muhlenberg College after a career in food service, having worked as a distinguished chef in New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia. She loved to travel, cook, and appreciated the arts and fine dining. She was a caring, compassionate and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed.
Survivors: In addition to her husband she is survived by step-sons, David and wife Renata Kula of Spotsylvania, VA and Jason and wife Jill Kula of Fogelsville, step-daughter, Karrie Kula of Detroit, MI and granddaughter Jordyn Kula. She was predeceased by son, Keith M. Prentis.
Services: The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by an 11:00 AM funeral service on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at the Schisler Funeral Home, Inc., 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, Pennsylvania 18067. Interment will be private .
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, ontributions may be made to the Keith Kula scholarship fund at Flagler College in care of the funeral home.
