Joanne M. Jones

Joanne M. Jones , 77, of Walnutport, PA, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg Campus in Bethlehem, PA.  Born February 5, 1947 in Trachsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Russell Strohl and the late Egerna (Beers) Strohl.  She was the wife of Carson R. Jones with whom she shared 55 years of marriage this past April 19, 2024.

After graduating high school, Joanne continued her education earning her Registered Nurse degree, and received a position at the former Allentown General Hospital, now Lehigh Valley Hospital-Allentown campus, serving 32 years before retiring in 2004.  Joanne was a member of Jerusalem U.C.C. Church, Trachsville.  She was formerly active at St. John's U.C.C., Slatington.  Joanne was very involved through the years with both Cub Scout and Boy Scout Troop #15, Walnutport, Minsi Trail Council, serving as Den Mother and Scout Leader sine 1977.  She was also a former member of Lehigh Twp. Vol. Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, Cherryville, for many years.

Survivors: Husband, Carson.  Sons, Michael Jones (Krista) and Trevor S. Jones (Donna) both of Walnutport.  Sisters, Mrs. Marlene Reph of Coudersport, and Sharon McFarland (Rick) of Slatington.  Grandson, Eston.

Services: Funeral Service, 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2024, Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071, with the Rev. Marian Johnson officiating.  Family and friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Interment will follow at Trachsville Cemetery.  Online Condolences may be offered to the family at: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com .
