John F. Kocher

John F. Kocher , 91 of Walnutport, PA passed away on  August 8, 2023. Born June 5, 1932 in Whitehall, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph Kocher Sr. and the late Marion (Crouthamel) Kocher. He was the husband of Frances (Ritter) Kocher, with whom he shared many years of loving marriage before her passing in 2013.

John started his working career at Cross Country Cloths as a Production Manager, and served there for 27 years.  Afterwards, he was employed by Northampton Area High School as a Maintenance Professional for 18 years before fully retiring. John served Christ UCC as a Deacon, Past President and an Elder of the Church Consistory for many years. He had a deep passion for bowling, participating in the Senior League at Hampton Lanes. He loved to watch Phillies Baseball games, play pinochle, and frequent casinos to play slots, which he was known to win at.

Survivors: daughters, Lynn L. Ritter of Walnutport, PA and Georgene wife of Richard Doyle of Bethlehem, PA, 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and sister, Thelma Seidel of New Tripoli, PA. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, 4 sisters, and one granddaughter.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday August 14, 2023 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA, 18067. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 AM, up until the time of service, with Pastor Brian Haas officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery  Northampton, PA.
