John C. Muhr, 64, of Church Street, Egypt, Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday afternoon, September 19, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem.  He was the husband of Shirleen L. (Meckel) Muhr since July 1, 1972, celebrating 45 years of marriage.  Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late John and Harriet (Benninger) Muhr.

John was employed by East Penn Manufacturing (DEKA Battery) for the last 45 years as a Supervisor/Material Handler.  He graduated from Northwestern Lehigh High School in 1971.  An avid fisherman, along with ice and deep sea fishing, he was a member of the Ranger Rod and Gun Club, North Whitehall Township.  John enjoyed motorcycling, Harley-Davidson, Sportster, Low Rider, his Ultra Classic, and was affiliated with the Lehigh Valley Hog Chapter for years.  He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan.  For those attending, at John's request, casual attire such as t-shirts and jeans will be fine.

Survivors: Wife, Shirleen.  Sons, Troy Muhr and companion Christine Wagner of Whitehall, Jay and wife Laura Muhr of Northampton.  4 grandchildren, Ella, Trystan, Owen, and Audra.  Sisters, Phyllis Seibert of Breinigsville, Doris wife of Larry Miller, Shirley wife of Joseph Betz, all of Slatington, Margaret wife of Jeffrey Weller of Kempton, Berks County.  Brother, Alvin Muhr of New Smithville.  Several nieces and nephews.

Services: 4:00 p.m., Monday, September 25, 2017, at Schisler Funeral Home, Inc., 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067.  Call, 2:00-4:00 p.m., Monday in the funeral home.  Interment will be private .  Online Condolences: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com
