John F. Polakovics
, 84, of Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, Pennsylvania, died late Tuesday evening, April 4, 2017, at Blue Mountain Health Systems, Palmerton Campus. He was the husband of the late Janice "Cookie" M. (Holecz) Polakovics. Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Peter and Pauline (Putera) Polakovics.
John was employed in general labor at the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton. John was a 1950 graduate of the Palmerton High School. He enjoyed camping, fishing, old westerns, NASCAR, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Eagles.
Survivors: Son, Joel A. Polakovics of Waymart, Wayne County. Cousins.
Services: Graveside Services, 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Sacred Heart Old Cemetery, 3rd Street, Palmerton, Pennsylvania 18071. Officiating is Deacon Edward Girard. Arrangements are by Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071.
