John P. Riedmueller , 78 of Northampton, PA, formerly of New York, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Hospice, Allentown, PA. Born June 5, 1946 in Dürrwangen, Germany, he was the son of the late Maximillian Riedmueller and the late Elisabeth (Breckheimer) Riedmueller. He was the husband of Joann R. (Ferrara) Riedmueller with whom he shared 53 years of marriage this past September 4, 2024. Prior to moving to Northampton, they lived 30 years in scenic Flemington, NJ.

John was last employed as the Director of Business Solutions for the John Wiley and Sons, a publishing company for 30 years before retiring in 2011. John was an avid boater and he enjoyed fishing and golfing. John was also known for being very handy, but his greatest love was vacationing with his family. John served his country as a Spc5 in the US ARMY and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War.

Surviving along with his wife are sons, John G.M. Riedmueller and wife Jessica of Greenwood Lake, NY and Steven T. Riedmueller and Kerri Magee of Roosevelt, NJ, daughter, Erika E. wife of Christopher Yob of Bethlehem, PA, sisters, Ursula Tarsio of Vernon, NJ and Edith Sleder of Warwick, NY; 7 grandchildren; Eric, Samantha, Tyler, Emily, Brianna, Madilyn, and Dylan and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service with military honors will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday December 20, 2024 at the Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA 18067. Family will receive family and friends from 2:00 PM until time of service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
