John Molnar, Sr., 91 of Lincoln Avenue, Northampton, died Saturday evening, July 30, 2016, at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Dorothy E. (Kohler) Molnar since Nov. 1, 1947. Born in N. Catasauqua, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary (Kretzman) Molnar. John was employed as a foreman for Lafarge Cement Co., Cementon, formerly Whitehall Cement Co., retiring in 1990. Previously, he worked over 20 years for the former Northampton Lumber Co. John was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Northampton. A 1943 graduate of the Northampton High School, he later served in the US Army, WWII, European Theatre, achieving the rank of Cpl. He was a member of the American Legion, Northampton Post, Northampton Exchange Club-former board member. John enjoyed woodworking, and gardening over the years. Survivors: Wife. Sons, John, Jr. and wife Jane of Bushkill Twp, Barry L. and wife Penny of Salisbury Twp. 3 grandchildren, Emily, Anne, and John Andras. 3 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews.
