John F. Waha

John F. Waha, 87 of Nazareth, PA, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at his residence. Born April 5, 1934 in Mercer, PA, he was the son of the late C. Harold Waha and the late A. June (Troutner) Waha. He was the husband of the late June T. (Boldt) Waha who passed away in March 2017.

John was a 1956 graduate of Penn State University earning a Bachelor's Degree in Science and Engineering, he also served 2 years in the ROTC program. John worked his entire 36 year career at the Bethlehem Steel Corp., Bethlehem, PA retiring in 1992 as the Superintendent of Yards & Transportation Department. John was a long time member of St. John's U.C.C. Church, Nazareth, PA. He volunteered his time with the Nazareth Jaycees as member, Local Chapter President and PA State Vice President. He served as a Board Member Treasurer of the Nazareth
Library for 21 years. John served as past member of the Nazareth Planning Commission and as a board member on the Nazareth Borough Zoning for 21 years.

Surviving are son, John F. Waha, II and wife Suzanne of Coldwater, MI, daughter, Jamy L. Fulton wife of Steve of Indio, CA, sister, Mary Stark of Rockville, MD, granddaughter; Nichole Waha, Indio, CA; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother, H. Royce Waha.

A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday March 14, 2022 at St. John's United Church of Christ, 183 S. Broad Street Nazareth, PA 18064. The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM on Sunday, March 13, 2022 and March 14, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM both at the Church.  Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Nazareth, PA. Bartholomew-Schisler Funeral Home, 211 E. Center St.
Nazareth, PA 18067 is in charge of arrangements.
