Johnnie J. Cooper, Sr.

Johnnie J. Cooper, Sr., 91 , of Creekside Manor, Lehighton, Franklin Twp., PA, died peacefully Friday morning, May 5, 2023, in his home.  He was the husband of Elaine (Mistretta) Cooper since September 19, 1986.  Born in Coal Grove, OH, he was a son of the late Elijah and Flossie (Waddle) Cooper.

Johnnie was employed as a heavy equipment operator by the Split Rock Resort, Co., Lake Harmony, for many years.  He enjoyed spending time at the Mauch Chunk Rod and Gun Club, Jim Thorpe.  Johnnie served in the Air Force, Korea Era and achieved the rank of A2C.

Survivors: Wife.  daughters, Patricia Card of Mahanoy City, Donna Luckenbill, and Lisa Jannazzo, both of Lehighton.  Sons, James Jannazzo of Lehighton, Johnnie J., Jr. and wife Kimberly Cooper of Nesquehoning, and Joseph Cooper of Philadelphia.  10 grandchildren.  19 great-grandchildren.  Sisters, Kathy, Dorothy and Frances, and brothers, George, and Edward. Nieces and nephews.
