Joseph Manuel Brazil, 72, of Danielsville, PA, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at home. Born January 31, 1949, in Lodi, California, he was the son of the late Joseph R. Brazil and the late Leona (Sally) E. (Schock) Brazil. He was the husband of Esther J. (Bevier) Brazil.
After graduating from Aurora, Missouri High School, he volunteered at the World Headquarters of Jehovah's Witnesses in NY for four years before marrying the love of his life, Esther. They were married for almost 50 years, November 6, 2021 would be their official 50th anniversary. One of Esther's last cherished memories was when she was trying on her dress for their upcoming anniversary family dinner. Joe looked at her and said "Wow! You are beautiful!" Joe was a loving father to his five children, who lovingly called him Papa. Papa was always there for his children and families. He was a true friend and confidant. The only thing that surpassed his love for Esther, his kids and grandkids was his love for his God, Jehovah. Joe was an avid student of the Bible, with an expansive knowledge of the scriptures. Many have fond memories of his excellent Bible talks and the love, kindness and patience he showed to his fellow brothers and sisters in the faith. He was a pillar in the community of Jehovah's Witnesses and will be missed by many. He was also known for his work ethic and kindness at PPL Electric Utilities of Allentown, where he worked for 39 years. He is fondly remembered for his love of music and his endless list of jokes.
From Joe's extensive study of the Bible, he was sure of his hope of a resurrection to a paradise earth like the one Adam and Eve lost. We longingly wait for the time mentioned at John 5:28 where it says, "all those in the memorial tombs will hear his (Jesus) voice and come out." Until that time, we will grieve his loss and cherish his memories.
Surviving along with his wife Esther are sons, Jabin and wife Jody, Jerid and wife Marie, Justin; daughter, Jana Oliver and husband Caleb and nine grandchildren; Alea, Evan, Hallie, Eliana, Alivia, Zavaya, Cruz, Cyrus, Kayden. He is also survived by, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Sister-in-law and Brothers-in-law. He was predeceased by his son Judah Brazil.
A memorial talk will be given by Brother Rick Colvin at 3:00 PM on October 23, 2021, via zoom. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Palmerton Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses c/o Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067.
