Joseph C. Kardelis, Jr., 79, of Nazareth, PA. died on Friday, October 26, 2018, at VNA Hospice House of St. Luke's in Bethlehem, PA. Born December 4, 1938 in Easton, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph , Sr., and Julia (Del Nero) Kardelis. He was the husband of Nancy L. (Hamel) Kardelis with whom he shared 59 years of marriage this past July 11, 2018.
Joseph attended Easton schools, and was a graduate of Nazareth High School, Class of 1957. He was the owner/operator of Kardelis Roofing, for 25 years until his retirement in 1999. Joseph was a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Master Mason and Past Worshipful Master of the Whitfield Lodge #622, of Nazareth, PA. Joseph was a Commander-in-Chief of the Allentown Consistory, and a Grand Tall Cedar of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Easton Forest #35. He was a member of the Valley of Allentown, and served as Past Most Wise Master of the Bethlehem Chapter of Rose Croix. Joseph was a member of the Nazareth Borough Planning Committee for 10 years, as well as serving honorably in the Pennsylvania National Guard. Joseph was a member of The Holy Family Catholic Church, Nazareth, PA.
Survivors: Wife. sons, Joseph C. Kardelis, III and wife Donna, John C. Kardelis and wife Maureen, Jamie C. Kardelis and wife Shelley, all of Nazareth, PA, grandsons, Joseph, IV and wife Jamie, Jesse and wife Shea, and Tanner, granddaughter, Tabitha, step-granddaughter, Jessica Sadler, great-granddaughters, Juliana, and Kennedy, step great-grandson Jackson Clark, sister, Mrs. Janice wife of Richard Yandresitz of Easton, brother, Eugene, of NY, and brother-in-law, Eugene Neal Hamel.
Services: Private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of Bartholomew-Schisler Funeral Home, 211 E. Center St. Nazareth, PA. 18064.
