Joseph S. Lakits

Joseph S. Lakits, 93, of 17th Street, Northampton, died Tuesday evening, October 16, 2018, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Ellen M. (Wagner) Lakits who passed in 2003. Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Andrew and Barbara (Went) Lakits.

Joseph was employed as a presser for the former Cross Country Clothes, Botany 500 Group, Northampton, for 36 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, Northampton. Joseph enjoyed polkas, playing his accordion, and watching Phila Phillies Baseball.

Survivors: daughters, Bernadette Stangl of Coplay, Carol wife of Jeremy Henninger of Slatington, Beverly Lakits of Northampton. son, Francis and wife Carol Bilder of Whitehall. 12 grandchildren, Francis Jr., Michelle, Keith, Jon, Mark, Pammy, Lisa, Tommy, Joey, Ashley, Chelsea, and Alyssa. numerous great grandchildren. nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Julia Peters, Elizabeth Lakits, brothers, John, and Stephen.
