Joseph R. Mcdevitt

Joseph Ryan McDevitt , 41, of Clearview Road, Souderton, Hilltown Township, Bucks County, PA, passed away suddenly Monday afternoon, July 24, 2023, in his home.  Born in Hartford, CT, he was a son of the late Stephen John McDevitt and Daryl Lynn (Bassillo) Huntoon of East Stroudsburg.

After high school, Joseph graduated from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology with an Associate of Applied Science.  When he realized machining and managing his department was not his passion, he went on to St. Luke's School of Nursing, and graduated with his Science & Practice of Nursing.  He became a fulltime registered nurse who truly cared for each and all of his patients with the utmost compassion and respect, both in the hospital and those with special needs at his current job.  Joseph was last employed by Salisbury Behavioral Health, in Pipersville.

Joe was one of a kind and had the biggest heart a person could have.  He loved his family and friends to no end.  He was passionate about everything he touched.  He loved working on his fish and reptile tanks and making mini plant eco systems.  He was into art, music, cars, anime, and always working on different DIY projects.  He was smart as a whip; he could make anything grow and bloom.  He could fix anything, taking it apart and putting it back together again.  And, he loved to share what he learned with anyone that would listen.  Joseph was always the life of the party, quick with a joke, and he easily made you feel seen, loved, and cared about.

He is survived by, and severely missed by his mother, Daryl Lynn Huntoon.  Stepfather, Sidney Randolph Huntoon.  Sister, Leigh wife of Christopher Barnett of Linden, NJ.  Brother, Sidney John Huntoon of Bath.  Several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
