Joseph S. Nenscel

Joseph S. Nenscel, 70, of Edgemont Avenue, Palmerton, Pennsylvania, died suddenly Saturday morning, April 20, 2019, at St. Luke's Hospital, Palmerton Campus.  He was the husband of Melody (Edgar) Nenscel since March 18, 1972.  Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late James and Catherine (Cseh) Nenscel.

Joseph was employed as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, Slatington, PA 18080, for 20 years, retiring in 2011. Previously, he was a garment worker for the former Blue Ridge Sportswear Company, Palmerton.  A 1966 graduate of the Palmerton High School, he later served his country honorably in the Army, Vietnam, achieving the rank of SP5(T).  Joseph was a member of the Hungarian Club, American Legion Post, and the VFW Post, all of Palmerton.  He was a great Notre Dame Irish Football Fan.

Survivors: Wife, Melody. Daughter, Jeana Marie wife of Matthew Baumgardt of Palmerton.  Son, Joshua J. and wife Kimberly Nenscel of Palmerton. 5 grandchildren, Eric, Emily, Ella, Lilly, and Lincoln.  Sister, Jane Treskot of Salisbury.  Brothers, James Nenscel of Palmerton, Jay Nenscel of Lehighton. Several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a brother, Jeffrey Nenscel.

Services: Memorial Services with Military Honors , 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 25, 2019, at Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071.  Call, 1:00-3:00 p.m., Thursday in the funeral home.  Private Interment.  Online Condolences may be left for the family at: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com .
