Joseph S. Schlager, Jr., 74, of Franklin Square, Northampton, Moore Twp., died early Monday morning, Dec 18, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp.  He was the husband of Lynne J. (O'Brien) Schlager since Feb 17, 1973.  Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Joseph S., Sr. and Theresa (Gessitz) Schlager.

Joseph was employed as a salesman for Bethlehem Ford over 20 years, retiring in 2005.  Previously, he worked as a salesman for the former Berman Furniture Co., Allentown.  He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Northampton.  Joseph was a 1961 graduate of the Coplay High School.  He served in the Navy, Cuban Missile Crisis, and Vietnam Era.  He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, and Triboro Sportsman, all of Northampton.  Joseph enjoyed bowling and shooting pool.

Survivors: wife, daughters, Tammy L. wife of Neal Stephens of Plymouth Meeting, Mary C. wife of LeRoy Troxell, Jr., of Northampton,  son, Joseph S., III and wife Beverly of Lehigh Twp, 8 grandchildren, sister, Theresa Schmoyer and companion Robert Smith, Jr.  of Northampton, brother, John and wife Lora of Mechanicsburg, several nieces and nephews.

Services: 7:00PM Friday, Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067.  Call, 6-7:00PM Friday in funeral home.
