Joseph C. Shanahan, Sr.,
48, of State Road, Palmerton, Pennsylvania, died suddenly Monday morning, September 25, 2017, in Swiftwater, Pocono Township, Monroe County. He was the companion of Erica K. Kramer with whom he resided. Born in Washington Township, Warren County, New Jersey, he was a son of the late David C. Shanahan, and Mrs. Charlotte (Kossick) Shanahan-Meehan of Kresgeville.
Joseph was employed as a service technician for All State Septic Systems, Bangor, for the last 8 years. A graduate of the Phillipsburg High School, New Jersey, he later served his country honorably in the US Army Military Police. Joseph was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Companion, Erica. Mother, Charlotte. Daughter, Melissa Lynn Andreniuk of Albany, Georgia. Stepdaughter, Alexandria Smith with whom he resided. Son, Michael P. Shanahan of Georgia. 1 grandson. Sister, Lisa Young of Kresgeville. Brother, David Shanahan in Pennsylvania. He was predeceased by a son, Joseph C. Shanahan, Jr.
