Joy C. Weldon

Joy C. Weldon 73, of Whitehall, PA, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at her home. Born December 9, 1950 in Salem, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late George Stence and the late Emma (Woodson) Stence. She was the wife of Rev. Scott L. Weldon with whom she shared 53 years of marriage this past June 19, 2024.

Joy was a graduate of United Wesleyan College, Allentown, PA earning a bachelors degree in Education. She was last employed as an Elementary teacher for the Bethlehem Christian School before retiring in 2005. Joy was a member of Bethany Wesleyan Church, Cherryville, PA. She was also a pastor's wife for 50 years, caring for all aspects that go along with being a pastor's wife, as well as taking on additional tasks, as a mentor for younger women and caring for other children both in and out of church settings.

Surviving along  with her husband Rev. Scott, are son, David S. Weldon and wife Caroline of Vineland, NJ, daughter, Daphne J. wife of Daryl Grover of Nazareth, PA, brother, Russell Stence and wife Carol of Rochester, NY, sister, Eileen wife of Gerry Potoka of Charlotte, SC; 3 grandsons; Bryson, Brennen, and Braylon. She was predeceased by a sister, Georgia and half brother Lenny.

A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday August 19, 2024 at Bethany Wesleyan Church, 675 Blue Mt. Drive, Cherryville, PA. 18035. Friends and family may call Sunday Aug. 18, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00PM and Monday Aug. 19, 2024 from 9:00AM to 11:00AM both in the church. Interment will follow service and will be PRIVATE for the FAMILY in Indianland Cemetery, Cherryville, PA.
