Karen M. Hulings

Karen M. Hulings, 67, of Slatington, died peacefully Monday morning, Feb 21, 2022, at Good Shepherd Specialty Hospital, Bethlehem. Born in Warren, PA, she was a daughter of the late Lee V. Hulings and the late Betty Jane Kane.

Karen was employed in the marketing dept of Rodale Press, Emmaus, for 35 years, retiring in 2016. A 1972 graduate of the Youngsville High School, Warren, she later, served in the Navy from 1981-1986 Stateside, and achieved rank of DK2. Karen was an active member of the American Legion, Allen O. Delke Post # 16, Slatington, serving 3 terms as their first female commander and as secretary. Karen enjoyed reading, crocheting, and caring for her pets.

Survivors: daughter, Jennifer Slifer of Slatington. son, James M. and wife Lauren of Macungie. 5 grandchildren, Zander, Zoe, Zalen, Jaidyn, and Cora. She was predeceased by her foster parents, John T. and Gertrude Dailey.
