**A Memorial Service Announcement is updated in the Services listed below**
Kathleen L. Dillon , 80, of Whitehall, PA, entered her eternal rest on Friday, April 21 at Cedar Crest Post-Acute in Allentown. Born in Philadelphia, PA on March 29, 1943, to Edward and Catherine Beren Loeb, she was known as Kathy to all who knew and loved her. She was a graduate of The Philadelphia High School for Girls and The Katharine Gibbs School.
Kathy met her childhood sweetheart, Bob Dillon, at age 10 in Town Bank, New Jersey. Their love story spanned 70 years and they celebrated 57 years of marriage on April 2, 2023. Kathy was a dedicated wife and mother who treasured her family and embraced every moment with them.
A follower of Jesus Christ, Kathy put her faith into action in myriad ways. She advocated for public education and keeping arts programs in schools. Her passion for animals influenced her work with the Humane Society to shut down puppy mills and enact legislation for leash laws. She was also an active motorcycling ambassador. She and Bob traveled together to hundreds of motorcycle events throughout the US and Canada. They logged thousands of miles on two and three wheels sharing the Gospel.
Kathy was a Biblical scholar. In high school, she took Greek and Hebrew for fun! She was a Certified Lay Minister in the United Methodist Church and served churches in Carbon and Schuylkill Counties in Pennsylvania in the 1990s. She led many Bible studies with extraordinary commitment and grace. Kathy and Bob moved to Avon, Indiana in 1999 where they were members of Avon United Methodist Church.
Kathy had both a gracious and vivacious personality, bringing smiles to everyone around her. She made friends with everyone she met and touched people with her gentle and generous nature. Her spirit will live on through her family and all who knew her.
Kathy's life was a living example of one of her favorite Bible verses. Ephesians 4:32- "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you."
