Kathleen Heist

Kathleen (Fries) Heist, 82, of Walnutport, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at her home. Born May 27, 1943 in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Isabel (Troller) Fries and wife of the late Richard Heist who passed away in 2018.

She was a registered nurse for the Lehigh Valley Health Network for more than fifty years before retiring. She was a founding member of the Lehigh Valley Home Health Nurse Association, a member of the Indianland Garden Club, and a member of the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the National Celiac Association. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Berlinsville. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and taking trips to Long Beach Island, New Jersey.

Survivors: She is survived by daughter, Karen and her husband Gary Hammer of Bath, daughter-in-law, Susan Heist of Slatington, grandchildren, Allison and her husband Kyle Love, Kylee and her husband Tyler Jones, Eric Hammer, and Brandon Heist, and great grandchildren, Isabella and Lillian Love.She is also survived by her sister, Joanne Stout of Palmerton, She was predeceased by her son, David Heist, and her sister, Barbara Clauser.

Services: The family will receive friends on Monday, June 1, 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by an 11:00 AM funeral service at the Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067. Entombment will follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum, Allentown. Guests are invited to wear floral attire to honor her love of flowers.
