Kathryn E. (Bollinger) Johnson

Kathryn E. (Bollinger) Johnson, 100, formerly of Palmerton, and Schnecksville, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday afternoon, August 24, 2016, at Liza's House Personal Care Home, Danielsville. She was the wife of the late Albert L. Johnson who passed in 2002. Born in former Millport, Aquashicola, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Charlotte (Hittner) Bollinger.
Kathryn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She was a member of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Palmerton. An avid community volunteer, she participated in the Meals on Wheels Program, Palmerton Hospital Auxiliary, homecare and housekeeping for seniors. She enjoyed cooking for various girl scout summer camps, and was a pastry chef at the former Horsehead Inn, Palmerton. Kathryn's family would like to heartfully thank the entire staff of Liza's House for their care and compassion of her.
Survivors: twin daughters, Kathryn A. Vacco of Upstate, New York, Kathleen A. Rogers of Naples, Florida. Son, Robert A. Johnson of Johnstown, New York. 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Brother, Delbert S. Bollinger of North Catasauqua. Nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother, Paul M.
Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2016 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071. Call, 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday in the church. Interment will be at Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery, Church Drive, Trachsville.
