Kenneth A. Dech

Kenneth A. Dech, 96 of Nazareth- Plainfield Twsp., PA died on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Gracedale Nursing Home in Nazareth, PA. Born July 29, 1922 in Nazareth, he was the son of the late Antro Dech and Mabel (Mackes) Dech. He was the husband of the late Millicent A. (Ruth) Dech who passed away in April 2015.

Kenneth was a woodworker for over 50 years, last working for Wm. Karch's Lumber in Belfast, PA before retiring in 1997. Prior to he worked in the same capacity for Scholl's Lumber, Hellertown and Brown & Borhek Lumber, Butztown, PA. He was a lifelong member of St. John's U.C.C. Church, Nazareth, PA where he served on the counting committee for years, and was a Deacon and former Consistory member. He was a former member of the American Legion Post #415, Nazareth, PA. He served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He is survived by his son, David K. Dech and wife Stephanie of Belvidere, NJ, daughter, Melanie R. wife of Jeffrey Strouse of Nazareth, PA; 3 grandchildren; Sarah Strouse, Aaron and Kyle Dech.

A Funeral service will be at 12:00 PM on Wednesday January 23, 2019 at Bartholomew-Schisler Funeral Home, 211 E. Center Street Nazareth, PA. 18064 with the Rev. Jeffery A. Brinks officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM prior to the services. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Nazareth, PA.
