Kenneth L. George

Kenneth L. George , 92, of Snyder Road, Palmerton, Towamensing Twp., PA, died peacefully Monday morning, September 25, 2023, in his home.  He was the husband of Mrs. Loretta E. (Strohl) George, celebrating over 73 years of marriage.  Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Adam and Eva (Buck) George.

Kenneth was employed by the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. for over 35 years.  He also served as Towamensing Twp. Supervisor for over 32 years, and as a self-employed farmer for over 65 years, raising crops and livestock.  A member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Towamensing, Palmerton, he was also a longtime member and past president of the Palmerton Rod and Gun Club.  Kenneth was an avid hunter who enjoyed being afield with his family and friends over the years.

Survivors: Wife.  Daughters, Kathy wife of Tim Kleintop, and Debbie George, all of Palmerton.  Sons, Roger and wife Pat, Jerry and wife Emily, Jeff and companion Georgianna Messenger, all of Palmerton, and Scott and wife Samantha of Ithaca, NY.  16 grandchildren.  Numerous great-grandchildren.  Sister, Shirene George of Palmerton.  Brothers, Elbert and wife Josephine, and Richard, all of Palmerton.  Numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by sisters, Lorraine Ziegler, Infant Elizabeth, and brothers, Wellington, and Clark.

Services: 12:00 Noon, Thursday, September 28, 2023, Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071.  Call, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon Thursday, in the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery, Trachsville.  Online Condolences: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com .
