Larue "Betty" George

LaRue "Betty" George, 92 of Anniston, Alabama formerly of Walnutport, PA, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021, at her son Dwight's home in Anniston, Alabama. Born February 27, 1929 in Slatington - Washington Twp., PA, she was the daughter of the late George Vogel, Jr. and the late Myrtle (Roberts) Vogel. She was the wife of the late Howard O. George, Jr. to whom she was married for 69 years until his passing in April 2015.

Betty worked as a trimmer for the former D'Ville Garment Co., Danielsville, PA for 15 years before retiring in 1972. She then worked as a lunch lady at the Northampton Senior High School for many years.

Surviving are sons, Dwight F. George and wife Chun Ling of Anniston, AL and Keith H. George of Houtzdale, PA, daughters, Donna L. Nonnemacher of Allentown, PA and Lynn M. wife of John Farkas, III of Laurys Station, PA; Son-in-law, Claude Missmer of Bethlehem, PA. 11 Grandchildren; 14 Great- Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Brenda G. Missmer, and a grandson.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Schisler Funeral home, 2119 Washington Avenue Northampton, PA 18067 has been entrusted with her arrangements and care. Interment will be in Indianland Cemetery Association, Cherryville, PA.
