Lawrence R. "Larry" Andreas

Lawrence R. "Larry" Andreas, 86, of Northampton passed away on Dec. 23, 2017. He was born in Aquashicola, PA on July 4, 1931 to the late Mark O. and Evelyn A. (Creitz) Andreas.

He served in the Army during the Korean conflict. He was the devoted husband of Lillian I. (Kosman) Andreas for 64 years, and they traveled the world together. Larry ran Andreas Home Improvements from his Northampton home for over 20 years. Prior to that he worked for the Northampton Lumber Co., Brader's Woodcraft, Lehigh Valley Dairy, and Bethlehem Steel. He was a member of AL 314 of Lehighton, CWV of Northampton, Korean Last Man Club of Lehighton, and Boy Scout Troop 82 of Andreas. Chairman of Troop 35 of Howertown, president of the Exchange Club of Northampton, and committee member of the Freedom Shrine & Jack Frost Parade. Also a treasurer of Grundsow Lodge #11 and a life member of the NRA and Lappawinzo Fish & Game club. He was an avid hunter and sportsman, going on expeditions well after his wife told him to stop.

Survivors: He is survived by his wife; children Linda Greenzweig (Ronald), Susan Lowder (Brian), Scott, and Eric (Evelyn); 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brothers Clair and Murray; and many other loving family and friends. He is predeceased by his grandson Brent Greenzweig; and brother Robert.

Services: All are invited to a viewing Thursday, Dec. 28 from 7-8:30pm at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA 18067, a viewing Friday, Dec. 29 from 10-11am, and a service at 11am, both at St. John's UCC Howertown, 22 Atlas Rd. Northampton, PA 18067. Interment with military honors will follow at the Greenwood cemetery, Allen Twsp.
