Leonard T. Homlak, Sr., 89, of Lehigh Avenue, Palmerton, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday evening, May 10, 2016, at Blue Mountain Health Systems, Palmerton Campus, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Antoinette A. (Stribula) Homlak since May 16, 1953. Born in Mayfield, Lackawanna County, he was a son of the late Frank and Catherine (Bachak) Homlak.
Leonard was employed as a Senior Draftsman 1st Class for PPL Electric Utilities Corporation, Allentown, for 23 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton, where he participated in the Choir, Altar, Rosary, and Holy Name Society. A US Navy Veteran of WWII, he served in the Pacific Theatre, and achieved the rank of MM(R)3/c. Leonard was a member of the American Legion Post #945, Harrisburg, the Blue Army Organization, Washington, NJ, and the P.A.L. Safety Club.
Survivors: Wife, Antoinette. Daughters, Mary wife of Douglas Serfass of Bethlehem, Catherine wife of Frank Facchiano of Allentown. Sons, Gerard and wife Denise, Leonardk Jr., all of Palmerton. 7 Grandchildren and Great-grandaughter, Evelynn Rose.
Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 243 Lafayette Avenue, Palmerton, Pennsylvania 18071. Call, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m., Thursday, May 12, 2016 and 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Friday, at Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, Pennsylvania 18071. Interment is with Military Honors, at the Parish''s New Cemetery, Stoney Ridge Road, Palmerton, PA.
