Linda L. Walck, 65, of Shadow Oaks Lane, Slatington, Pennsylvania, died peacefully Wednesday evening, May 30, 2018, at St. Luke's VNA Hospice House, Lower Saucon Township.  Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of the late Robert J. and Carrie S. (Ziegenfuss) Walck.

Linda was employed by St. Luke's University Health System, Fountain Hill, as a professional Social Worker for over 25 years, retiring in 2016.  She was honored to receive the PCRAFT Award from St. Luke's during her tenure. A 1970 graduate of the Palmerton High School, she graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a Bachelor's Degree in English.  She later attended Marywood University earning her Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW).

Linda was a Christian and an active member of the Slatington Baptist Church where she served on the Diaconate Board, the Advisory Board, Pastoral Relations Committee, and led the choir for many years.  Linda loved music, she was an accomplished saxophone player and a former member of the Palmerton Band.  She was extraordinarily generous in many ways.  Over the years, she donated 25 gallons of blood through the Miller Blood Bank, and annually made sauerkraut to hand out to many friends, giving her time and spirit to anyone in need.

Survivors: Sisters, Patricia J. Walck of Aquashicola, Judy L. Christman of Saylorsburg.  One niece, Cathy, and three Nephews, Michael, Williams, and Robert.  Dear friend of 30+ years, Kate, wife of Ray DeFrain, Sr. of Slatington.  She was "Momma Linda" to Kate's children and their families; Anoure Fenstermaker of New Tripoli, Elizabeth Martlock of Orwisburg, and Raymond DeFrain, Jr. of Valparaiso, IN.  Survivors also include her long time friends, Suzanne Garszczynski of Florida, and Louise Knoll of Slatington, as well as numerous other close friends.  She was predeceased by her brother, Robert P. Walck.

Services: A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., at the Slatington Baptist Church. Private Interment, Ebenezer Union Cemetery, New Tripoli, PA.  Arrangements are by Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071.
