Lloyd D. Gantz

Lloyd D. Gantz, 87, formerly of Schnecksville, Pennsylvania, died Monday afternoon, January 2, 2017, in Shartlesville, Upper Bern Township, Berks County.  He was the husband of Frances L. (Muthard) Gantz since June 9, 1951.  Born in Ironton, North Whitehall Township, he was a son of the late Arthur and Dorothy (Schmoyer) Gantz.
Lloyd was employed as a supervisor for the LaFarge Cement Company, formerly Whitehall Cement Company, Cementon, Whitehall Township, for 18 years, retiring in 1989.  Previously, he worked for the former Giant Portland Cement Company, Egypt.  Lloyd was a member of the Egypt Community Church, Whitehall Township, and the Copeechan Fish and Game Club, Schnecksville.  A 32nd Degree Mason, Lloyd was a member of Chapman Lodge No 637 F. & A.M., Northampton, the Lehigh Consistory-Valley of Allentown, and the Rajah Shrine, Reading.  He attended the Grundsau Lodsch Nummer 1, on da Lecaw, Northampton, and was an avid hunter.
Survivors, Wife, Frances.  Daughter, Marcia R. wife of Jeffrey Wink with whom he resided.  3 grandchildren, Travis, Briel, and Shawn.  Sisters, Mary Ann wife of Gordon Williams of Spring Mills, Centre County, and Joanne Jalowiecki of Allentown.  Numerous nieces and nephews.  Faithful dog, Max.  He was predeceased by a daughter, Eileen R. in 1982, and sisters, Fern Muthard, Dolores Woltring, and brothers, LeRoy, and Leonard.
Services:  10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2017, at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067.  Call, 9:00-10:00 a.m., on Saturday, prior to services.  Masonic Services will begin at 9:50 a.m.  Interment is at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Airport Road, Allentown.
