Lois L. Benson

Lois L. Benson, 82 of Bethlehem, formerly of Indiana, passed away on May 17, 2018, at her daughter's home. Born January 16, 1936 in Axtell, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Alvin L. and Mary C. (Reed) Sarver. She was married on August 5, 1963 to Andrew J. Benson, who passed away just hours before Lois.

Lois graduated from Indiana State University and worked as a 4th Grade Elementary School Teacher for 31 years in Bloomfield School District, Indiana until she retired in 1994. She was a very active member of Life Church in Bloomington, IN, serving as a Sunday school and vacation bible school teacher, leading bible study groups and discipleship classes, mentoring young adults and new believers and offering Christian counseling.

Surviving are , daughter, Kathleen M., wife of Eric Overholt of Bath, PA, son, Jon K. Benson of Bloomington, IN, step -son, Steven Benson of New Mexico, seven grandchildren and five great -grandchildren. She was predeceased by step-son, Mike Benson and step-daughter, Patricia Susan Rinehart.

Funeral services for both she and her husband will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Grace Community Church, 1290 Minesite Road, Allentown, Pennsylvania. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the services.
