Lois B. Miller, 84, of Whitehall celebrated her final act on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, with a full house at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown surrounded by her loving family. Born December 20, 1933 in Tamaqua, PA, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Bitsko and Lillian (Rhubright) Bitsko. She was the wife of Stanley L. Miller who passed away in April 2003.
Lois was last employed by State Theatre, Easton, PA, for 2 years before retiring in 1996. Prior to the State Theatre, she was an executive secretary for Ingersoll-Rand, Allentown, PA for 20 years and prior to that she was the Executive Secretary to the President at the former Hess's Department Store, Allentown, for 18 years. Lois was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Whitehall. An avid enthusiast of singing and theatre, which was evident with her involvement and talent performing as a member of the former Percy Brown Dinner Theatre, Shepherd of the Hills Dinner Theatre, Civic Little Theatre, and the Bethlehem Playhouse. Lois traveled with "Tina's and Tony's Wedding" which started at the State Theatre, as well as past President of Muhlenberg College Opera Workshop.
Surviving are sons, Martin S. and wife Tracy Miller of North Wales, PA, Christopher S. and wife Kimberly Miller of Emmaus, PA, daughter, Kimberly S. Nicholson wife of Charles Herse of Whitehall, PA, sister, Mrs. Lillian Boyle of Tamaqua, PA, grandchildren, Alexandra, Meg Ryan, Stephanie, Jordan, Lisa, Douglas, Ashley, Nora, Emily, Jennifer and Justine, and 10 great- grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 to celebrate her life at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church - Egypt, 4331 Main St. Whitehall, PA. 18052. The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM on Monday, February 5, 2018, at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, PA 18067 and 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM prior to the services in church on Tuesday. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
