Loretta Ann Fry

Loretta Ann (Wisher) Fry of Northampton, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 21, 2017, surrounded by her family.  She had been a patient in Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg several times in recent months, because of a lengthy and painful illness.

Loretta was born in Jackson's Patch, Mahanoy City, PA, on December 17, 1931, the daughter of the late Charles O. and Julia (Markle) Wisher.  She lived there until the family moved to Paterson, New Jersey in 1940, after the death of her father.  She was the loving and devoted wife of Charles F. Fry, who is a resident of Sacred Heart Senior Living by the Creek, Northampton.  They recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Loretta was employed by the Allentown School District for more than 22 years, first as a cook, and then retiring as the manager of four cafeterias.  She was devoted to her family.  She enjoyed travel, foreign and domestic, having been to several Asian countries, Central Europe, Israel, and a number of times to the British Isles.  When not traveling, she enjoyed cooking, reading, knitting and embroidery.

Survivors: She is survived by her husband Charles. Son Charles of Whitehall. Daughters, Mrs. Donald (Ann) Troxell, Northampton, Mrs. Stephen (Mary) Newman, Sherrodsville, Ohio, and Mrs. Roy (Julia) Grube, New Tripoli.  8 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her parents and 8 siblings.  Loretta was not just a "wife", she was a NAVY WIFE .

Services:  Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 115 Washington Street, Bath, PA 18014.  Call, 7:00-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2017 and 9:00-10:00 a.m. Wednesday, at Schisler Funeral Home, Inc., 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067.  Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Krocks Road, Wescoesville.
