Louis L. Szoke, 85, of Wood Drive, Walnutport, Lehigh Township, Pennsylvania, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, July 19, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.  He was the husband of the late Joyce M. (Hansler) Szoke, who passed in 2013.  Born in Lehigh Township, he was the son of the late Paul and Eva (Polok) Szoke.

Louis was employed in the coke ovens division of the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation, for 36 years, retiring in 1985.  He was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, Berlinsville.  A 1950 graduate of the Palmerton High School, he later served his country honorably in the Army, Korea Era, achieving the rank of Cpl. (T).  Louis was a member of the American Legion, Oplinger-Hower Post 899, Lehigh Township.  He also coached Lehigh Township Baseball for several years.

Survivors: Daughters, Bernadette M. wife of George Farkas, Antoinette M. wife of Wallace Grube, all of Lehigh Township.  Sons, Randal L. and wife Kim of Washington Township, Lehigh County, Thomas L. and wife Sherry, Lawrence L. and wife Lisa, all of Lehigh Township, Gerald A. Smith of Hanover Township.  15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  Brothers, James P. and wife Shirley of Lehigh Township, Ernest G. and wife Cleta of Doylestown.  Many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by daughters, Lisette Hahn, Susette Olewine, and a granddaughter, Tracy L. Szoke.

Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 24, 2017, at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, 1152 Oak Road, Walnutport (Berlinsville), PA 18088.  Call, 6:00-9:00 p.m., Sunday, July 23, 2017 and 9:00-10:00 a.m., Monday, in Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071.  Interment follows the Mass, with Military Honors, at the Parish Cemetery, Oak Road, Lehigh Township.  Officiating will be the Rev.
