Lyman F. Gruber

Lyman F. Gruber, Jr., 73, of Lehigh Avenue, Palmerton, Pennsylvania, died suddenly Monday afternoon, December 9, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.  He was the husband of Peggy Ann (Marsh) Gruber since July 13, 1974.  Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Lyman F., Sr. and Fern A. (Dreher) Gruber.

Lyman was employed by the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation in the coke works and blast furnace department.  He was a 1964 graduate of the Lehighton High School, and served in the Navy, Vietnam Era, achieving the rank of BTFN E-3.  An avid hunter, he was a member of the Nis Hollow Hunting Club, Lehighton.

Survivors: Wife, Peggy.  Daughters, Meghan J. wife of Jamie Balliet of Bethlehem, Jamie J. wife of Jamie L. Heydt of Forest Inn, Courtney N. Gruber of Palmerton.  Sons, Lyman M. Gruber, Ashley S. Gruber, and Brenton W. Gruber, all of Palmerton.  8 Grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.  Sisters, Lyanna M. wife of Larry Costenbader, Darla I. wife of Curtis Strohl, all of Lehighton.  *Brothers, Jeffrey A. and wife Bridget Gruber of Lehighton, and, Richard L. Gruber of Las Vegas, NV.  Numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by sister, Norene Strohl in 1989.

Services: Memorial Services with Military Honors, 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 13, 2019, Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071.
