Major Thomas, 91 of South Whitehall Township, formerly of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home.


Born November 19, 1928 in Wrightsville, Georgia, he was the son of the late Norman Thomas, Sr. and Minnie (Daniels) Thomas. and husband of over 55 years of the late Alice M. (Jackson) Thomas.

Major worked as a forklift operator for over forty years before retiring.
He enjoyed watching the ships come in at the waterfront at Elizabeth, NJ. Major Loved spending time and telling stories to Mikayla, Olivia and "that girl" Jasmine and to everybody else in the family.

He is survived by, sister, Louise Thomas of Augusta, GA, brother, Eddie L. Thomas, Sr. and his wife Hilda M. of Northampton, sisters-in-law, Janet Thomas and Clarissa Thomas, and many nieces and nephews, including United States Supreme Court Justice, Clarence Thomas.

He was predeceased by sisters, Marylee Johnson and Martha Johnson, brothers, Willie Frank, M. C.. Thomas, Norman Thomas, Jr., Walter L. Johnson and Lawrence L. Thomas.


Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by the Schisler Funeral Home, Northampton, PA.
