Manuel R. Amorim

Manuel R. Amorim , 70, of Third Street, Palmerton, PA, died peacefully Tuesday morning, January 9, 2024, in his home.  He was the husband of Amelia A. (Pinto) Amorim since July 8, 1978.  Born in Arcos de Valdevez, Portugal, he was a son of the late Antonio Pereira Amorim and Gloria Maria (Rodrigues) Amorim.

Manuel was employed by the former NJ Zinc Co., Palmerton, as a laborer and assistant furnace operator.  He was a very handy and constructive person who enjoyed building and restoring his home and property.  Manuel was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton.

Survivors: Wife. Son, Jason M. and wife Tia Amorim of Palmerton.  Grandchildren, Isla, and Rye.  Sisters, Maria Dias of Palmerton, and Carma wife of Valdomar Varajao of FL.  Brothers, Jose and wife Lurdes Amorim, and Candido and wife of Isabel Amorim all of Palmerton.  Several nieces and nephews.

Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 15, 2024, Sacred Heart Church, 243 Lafayette Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071.  Call, 10:00a.m.-11:00a.m., Monday in the church.  Future Interment in Portugal.  Arrangements, Campton Funeral Home, Palmerton.  Online Condolences: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com .
