Margaret J. Butz

Margaret "Peggy" Jane Butz, 78, passed away on January 11, 2018 at Whitehall Manor, Whitehall, Pennsylvania. Devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and friend, she will be greatly missed for her smile and uplifting personality by all who've had the privilege of knowing her. Born in Wilson, PA, 1939, Peggy attended and graduated from Wilson Area High School, Easton, PA. After graduation she attended Churchman's Business School in Easton and received an Associates Degree in Business/Secretarial enjoying a successful career in her field. Around the time of her college graduation she met and soon married Harold A. Butz of Stockertown, PA, her loving husband of 52 years until his death in 2011. Before retirement she was church secretary for Ebenezer Bible Fellowship Church in Bethlehem, PA for many years and along with Harold were longtime contributing members. Upon retirement they enjoyed a very happy 14 year vacation together in Bradenton, Florida. With a lifetime love of music, she was an accomplished vocalist and pianist. Peggy was the Daughter of the late Harold and Jane (Warner) Steckel of Wilson, PA and was also predeceased by her brother, James Steckel of Billings, Montana. She is survived by her sons; Jeff Butz and wife Margaret of Danielsville, PA, Jim Butz and wife Melanie of Cumming, GA; 5 Grandchildren: Evan Butz, Connor Butz and wife Elizabeth, Ryan Butz, Madison Butz and Hannah Butz; Sister-in-law Peggy Steckel of Billings, Montana; Nieces: Jane, Debbie; Nephews: Michael, Stephen.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on a later date at Ebenezer Bible Fellowship Church, 3100 Hecktown Road, Bethlehem, PA. There will be a social gathering time after the service with refreshments. All family and friends are invited and encouraged to attend.
