Margaret L. Ferreira

Margaret "Sally" L. Ferreira, 88, of Northampton, PA, formerly of Beersville, PA, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 in Monroe, NY peacefully with her family by her side. Born June 10, 1930 in Northampton County, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Verna (Beers) Frey. She was the wife of the late Jacob "Jay" Ferreira. They were married for 60 years.

Margaret attended Northampton Senior High School. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Northampton. She worked for a number of years at Northampton Cross Country Clothes and later as a management assistant at the firm of Siebert, Ferreira, Schlicting, Architects & Planners, Allentown. Margaret became a very active board member of the Northampton Historical Society beginning with the Northampton Borough Diamond Jubilee celebration and restoration of the Siegfried Railroad Station in 1976. She was also an active member of the Willow Brook woman's golf league.

Surviving are son, Colonel Jay M. and wife, Lieutenant Colonel Stacey L. of Monroe, NY; 4 grandchildren, Sierra, Amy, Jacob and Michael; sister, Esther Catino of Aiken, SC; brothers, Russell of Wind Gap, PA and David of Kunkletown, PA; and 1 Jack Russell Terrier, Roxy. She was predeceased by brother, Paul of Barnesville, PA; sisters, Pauline Silfies of Warminster, PA, and Miriam Bender of Danielsville, PA.

The Divine Liturgy will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday July 6, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1343 Newport Ave., Northampton, PA 18067. The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 PM on Thursday July 5, and at 8:30-9:30 AM on Friday July 6, prior to the services, at Schisler Funeral home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA 18067. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Northampton.
