Margaret L. (Markell) Kresge , 91, of The Palmer House, died peacefully late Monday afternoon, February 17, 2025, at Mahoning Valley nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Lehighton. She was the wife of the late Richard R. Kresge who passed in 1994. Born in Slatington, she was a daughter of the late Willard G., Sr. and Elda L. (Maw) Markell.
Margaret was employed as a floor lady by the former Fernbrook Garment Co., Forest Inn, for over 20 years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of the I.L.G.W.U. She was a member of Faith Alive Church, Palmerton. She enjoyed spending time with her family, her Tuesday morning breakfast group at Bert's Steakhouse, bingo, dominos, and card games at the Palmerton High Rise. An avid sports fan, she enjoyed Penn State Football, and all the Palmerton Blue Bomber Sports.
Survivors: Daughters, Debra S. wife of Allen Kresge of Whiteland, IN, Brenda L. wife of Duane McGrath, and Diane L. wife of William Heinz, all of Lehighton. 5 grandsons, Matthew, Jeremy, Ryan, Nathan, and Logan. 11 great-grandchildren. Sister, Marilyn Rice of Slatington. Brother, William "Billy" and wife Doris of Slatington. Several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Mae Kidd, and Martha Kern, and brother, Willard G., Jr.
Services: 11:00 a.m., Friday, Faith Alive Church, PO Box 177, 678 Pine Street, Palmerton, PA 18071. Call, 7:00-8:30 p.m., Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071, and 10:00-11:00 a.m., Friday in the church.
