Margaret (Szoke) Koze Mentzer passed away on January 15, 2021 at Devon House in Allentown, PA at age 96. Born in Northampton, PA she was the daughter of the late Alexander Szoke and Barbara (Rasky) Szoke. In 1942 she married Donald R. Koze, Sr. a local painting contractor and owner of the Jordan Lanes in Whitehall, PA. They were married 49 years until his death. She married Raymond Mentzer of Emmaus in 1994. Margaret resided in Center Valley most of her life.

An active member of the Calypso Chapter #163 Order of the Eastern Star since 1949, she served as Worthy Matron in 1978-79. She loved traveling with Donald in their motor home, music, dancing, playing the piano and organ, bowling, watching sports especially Philadelphia teams, animals, and spending time with her family and friends. Prior to joining St. John's U.C.C. Church in Emmaus, she was a faithful member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church Summit Lawn.

She had a smile and kind word for everyone. Margaret will be remembered for her sense of humor, her gentle ways, and her love of life. She was loved and will be greatly missed by her family.

Survivors: Daughter, Cheryl F. Koze Bohannon of Allentown; son Donald R. Koze, Jr. of Center Valley; son Dennis R. Koze and wife Pannee of Albrightsville; son Jeffrey T. Koze and wife Wendy of Hellertown; 9 grand- children and 4 great grandchildren. Margaret was predeceased by her parents Alexander and Barbara Szoke, sisters Lillian Needham, Rosie Kerosetz, Julia Kovack, Anna Szoke, and brothers Alex Szoke and Stephen Szoke.

A private graveside service will be held at Arlington Memorial Park, Whitehall, PA, Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue Northampton, PA. 18067 has been entrusted with her care and services.

Contributions may be made in her memory to 2nd Harvest Food Bank c/o the funeral home.
