Maria Josephine Cardaneo

Maria Cardaneo, 82, of Hillsborough, New Jersey passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset, Somerville, New Jersey.

Born July 17, 1943, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Vilma (Pribila) Rustako, Sr..

She worked in sales and marketing for M&M Mars in New Jersey for many years before retiring. She loved nature, was an avid bird watcher and had even explored underwater realms many years ago during her scuba diving adventures. Maria's thoughts of others often outweighed those of herself.

She is survived by her sister, Constance wife of C. Richard Bieling of Palmerton, sister-in-law, Carol Rustako of New Jersey, former husband, Charlie Cardaneo of Florida, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother, Anthony Rustako, Jr., sister, Coralie Dryer.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by the Miller Funeral Home, Lehighton.
