Martin A. Connolly

Martin A. Connolly , 81 of Walnutport, PA, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Monday, June 3, 2024. Born August 15, 1942 in Manhattan, New York, he was the son of the late Matthew Connolly and the late Grace (Bernstein) Connolly. He was the husband of the late Christina "Carol"  Connolly who passed away November 30 2021, after 52 years of marriage.

Martin was a Truck driver for over 50 years, last driving for New Wave Transport, out of Sommerset, NJ. Before retiring in 2013. Martin was very involved with A.A.-Blue Mountain Gratitude Group., Slatington, PA ultimately achieving 42 years of sobriety. He utilized his time in A.A. to support and guide others as they achieve and maintain their own sobriety. He "met you where you were" with no judgement. He had an arsenal of "dad jokes" and a laugh that could be heard from miles around. He was so loved by his community, his friends, and his family.

Surviving are sons, Matthew Hopkins of Milltown, NJ and Marty Connolly and wife Dorothy of Walnutport, PA, daughters, Christy wife of Peter Kady of Jamesburg, NJ and Beth Anne Connolly wife of Bernard Thompson of Haines City, FL, sister, Carolann wife of Ronald Foster of Lufkin, TX; 10 grandchildren; Jason, Sara, Justin, Ashley, Caitlin, Ashley, Nicole, Danielle, Noah, and Benjamin, 11 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by son, Robert Hopkins, brother, Robert Connolly, sister, Eileen Depping.

A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday June 8, 2024 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA 18067. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Northampton, PA.
